Facilities are becoming more connected, but connection alone is not enough. Panic buttons, sensors, RTLS tags, alerts, and response systems all generate valuable signals. The challenge is making sure those signals move quickly, reliably, and with enough context to support action.
That is where the NovoTrax Korvex Gateway comes in.
Korvex is the gateway infrastructure behind the NovoTrax Mesh Network, helping connect NovoTrax devices to the cloud in real time. It supports the communication layer that allows location data, panic alerts, sensor activity, and connected device signals to become part of a larger safety and operational response workflow.
Why Gateway Infrastructure Matters
In many facilities, safety and operational systems are still treated as separate tools. A panic button may trigger an alert. A sensor may detect activity. An RTLS tag may provide location data. A communication platform may send notifications.
But when those systems are disconnected, teams may still face delays, blind spots, and manual coordination.
The value of NovoTrax is not only in detecting that something happened. It is in helping teams understand where it happened, what device or person is involved, which workflow should begin, and who needs to be notified.
Korvex helps make that possible by connecting physical devices to the NovoTrax platform through a scalable gateway and mesh network foundation.
Connecting Real-World Signals to the NovoTrax Platform
Korvex allows NovoTrax devices to communicate with the cloud, creating the foundation for real-time visibility and coordinated response. When a connected device generates a signal, Korvex helps transmit that information into the platform so it can be used in alerts, dashboards, location-aware workflows, and response coordination.
This creates a simple but powerful flow:
A device detects or triggers an event. That could be a panic button press, RTLS tag movement, sensor activity, or another connected device signal.
Korvex moves the signal into the NovoTrax cloud. The gateway supports real-time communication between devices and the platform.
NovoTrax turns that signal into context. The platform can help identify the location, device type, alert status, and workflow rules connected to the event.
Teams receive information they can act on. Instead of relying on disconnected alerts, responders can gain better visibility into what is happening and where attention is needed.
Built for Real-Time Location and Safety Workflows
Korvex plays an important role in supporting NovoTrax RTLS and location-aware workflows. The gateway supports Standard BLE and Coded PHY, allowing the system to support indoor tracking as well as extended long-range coverage depending on the environment. The datasheet lists typical indoor BLE range at 10–30 meters and extended Coded PHY coverage at approximately 240–400 meters depending on conditions.
For facilities that need greater location precision, select Korvex models can support optional Angle of Arrival configuration for approximately 1-meter accuracy with proper calibration. Other deployments may use room-level or zone-level visibility depending on the model, use case, and installation method.
This flexibility allows NovoTrax to support different operational needs, from broad building coverage to more precise location awareness.
More Than Continuous Monitoring
Different environments need different reporting models. Some facilities need continuous streaming for live monitoring. Others need event-driven communication where data is transmitted only when something important happens.
Korvex supports both Continuous Streaming and Report-By-Exception modes. Continuous Streaming can support live location data and continuous monitoring, while Report-By-Exception transmits only when events occur, such as a panic button press. This helps reduce data traffic and can extend battery life in event-driven deployments.
That distinction matters because not every use case needs constant data movement. Some workflows depend on live visibility, while others depend on reliable event-based triggers. Korvex gives NovoTrax the flexibility to support both.
Designed for Scalable Deployment
Korvex is designed for real-world buildings and campuses. Power over Ethernet supports cleaner installation by using a single cable for power and data. The gateway can also scale to hundreds of mesh-connected NovoTrax Nodes, helping extend communication across larger or more complex environments.
For organizations with multiple buildings, dense indoor layouts, outdoor areas, or mixed-use facilities, this kind of gateway layer is important. It helps create the foundation for coverage, communication, and reliability across the environment.
Optional battery backup also supports outage resilience, while supported Korvex models can include local LED and audio alerts for on-site notification. The Korvex One model, for example, supports custom color flashing by alert type and prerecorded voice messages.
The Korvex Gateway Family
NovoTrax offers multiple Korvex models to support different deployment needs:
Korvex Air
A standalone gateway designed for distance-based connectivity.
Korvex Pro
A standalone gateway for deployments that need both distance and precision.
Korvex One
A standalone gateway that supports distance, precision, and local visual/audio alert capabilities.
Korvex Node
A wall-mounted relay node that helps extend the mesh network.
Korvex Nano
An embedded gateway option for compact distance-based deployments.
This model family allows NovoTrax to adapt the network architecture to the physical environment, whether the goal is broad coverage, precision location, local alerting, relay expansion, or embedded connectivity.
Supporting Safer, Smarter Facilities
Korvex strengthens the NovoTrax platform by giving connected devices a reliable path into real-time workflows. That matters across multiple environments.
In education, Korvex can support panic button communication, staff location awareness, campus-wide alerting, and emergency response coordination.
In healthcare, it can support staff safety, asset visibility, sensor-driven workflows, and operational awareness across care environments.
In public safety, enterprise, and municipal facilities, Korvex can help connect buildings, people, devices, and alerts into a more coordinated operational network.
The common thread is simple: when signals move faster and carry more context, teams can respond with greater confidence.
From Signals to Coordinated Action
The NovoTrax Korvex Gateway is not just another device in the ceiling or on the wall. It is a core infrastructure layer that helps connect the physical environment to the NovoTrax platform.
It helps turn device signals into visibility. It helps turn location data into awareness. It helps turn alerts into coordinated workflows.
As facilities continue to modernize their safety and operational systems, gateway infrastructure will play a critical role in making those systems more connected, more responsive, and more useful in real time.
Korvex gives NovoTrax the connected foundation to help organizations move from isolated devices to intelligent, coordinated action.
